Mona Lisa, Atlantis, Lord of the Rings, Matrix and motor engineering.

You may be wondering what all these have in common. A cutting edge Canadian invention, the 3D color laser scanner (developed at National Research Council) was used to examine Mona Lisa's "health" and NASA's space shuttle Atlantis heat tiles, to create animations in the Lord of the Rings and Matrix movies or to engineer motors.

It is interesting how many diverse applications there are for the world's highest resolution camera. Who knows though what other applications could be found when it will be available to the consumers.

Even though Mona Lisa can hardly hold her secrets the good news is that she is in good shape and is still smiling.
